Nevada's Challenge

Nevada Covering Kids and Families (CKF) links families with uninsured children to health care by providing application assistance, outreach and public education to not only Nevada’s uninsured population, but also the community based organizations that serve them.  Narrowing the gap between the number of children eligible for Nevada Check Up and Medicaid and the number who benefit is critical.

According to Ashley White of the Children’s Defense Fund, May 2008, “Every 41 seconds another child is born uninsured.”   According to Great Basin Primary Care Association’s Uninsured Study of 2007 in Northern Nevada there are over 33,104 children under the age of 19 who are uninsured.  In Southern Nevada there are over 142,100 children under the age of 19.

You may ask, "Why should I care?"  We must all care.  The reality is the uninsured could be our neighbor, co-worker, friend or employees at places of business that we frequent.

Join Nevada Covering Kids and Families to reduce the number of uninsured Nevadans.
